THE SELFISH FATHER ENGLISH
Once upon a time in a small village nestled between rolling hills and dense forests, there lived a man named Marlon. Marlon was known far and wide for his wealth, having inherited a vast estate from his father. However, he was also known for his selfishness. Despite his riches, Marlon rarely helped those in need and always put his own desires above everything else.
Marlon had a son named Jacob, a bright and kind-hearted boy who dreamed of exploring the world beyond their village. Jacob's mother had passed away when he was very young, leaving Marlon as his only family. Jacob often felt lonely and yearned for his father's affection and approval, but Marlon was too absorbed in his own pursuits to pay much attention to his son.
One cold winter, the village fell upon hard times. The harvest had been poor, and many families were struggling to find enough food to survive. Jacob, seeing the suffering around him, begged his father to help the villagers. "Father, we have more than enough to share. Please, let's help them," Jacob pleaded.
But Marlon, sitting in his warm study, merely glanced up from his ledger and dismissed Jacob's request. "Why should I share what is rightfully ours? They are not our concern," he replied coldly.
Disheartened, Jacob decided to take matters into his own hands. Late at night, he sneaked into the storage room and gathered as much food and supplies as he could carry. He then distributed them to the neediest families in the village. The villagers were grateful, but Jacob knew his actions would soon be discovered.
Sure enough, Marlon noticed the missing supplies and demanded an explanation. Jacob bravely confessed, hoping his father would understand and change his ways. Instead, Marlon was furious. "How dare you give away what belongs to us!" he shouted. "You are just as foolish as your mother was."
Jacob's heart sank at his father's harsh words. He realized that Marlon would never change, and that staying with him would only lead to more suffering. With a heavy heart, Jacob decided to leave the village and seek a new life where his kindness and generosity would be appreciated.
Years passed, and Jacob's name became known far and wide for his acts of compassion and bravery. He traveled from village to village, helping those in need and spreading hope wherever he went. People admired him not just for his deeds, but for his unwavering spirit and the love he showed to everyone he met.
Meanwhile, Marlon grew older and lonelier. His wealth brought him no comfort, and the villagers, who once respected his family, turned their backs on him. One harsh winter, much like the one before, Marlon found himself struggling to survive. His estate had fallen into disrepair, and his riches could not keep him warm or fill his stomach.
Desperate and humbled, Marlon ventured into the village to seek help. But the villagers, remembering his selfishness, refused to aid him. They reminded him of his son's kindness and how he had turned his back on his own people. Realizing the magnitude of his mistakes, Marlon set out to find Jacob, hoping to make amends.
After a long and arduous journey, Marlon finally found Jacob in a distant village. Jacob was surrounded by friends and admirers, living a life full of love and purpose. Marlon, now a shadow of his former self, approached his son with tears in his eyes. "Jacob, I have come to ask for your forgiveness," he said, his voice trembling with regret.
Jacob looked at his father, seeing the man he once feared now humbled and broken. With a kind heart that had always defined him, Jacob embraced Marlon and said, "Father, it is never too late to change. Let us build a new life together, one filled with love and compassion."
And so, Marlon spent his remaining years by Jacob's side, learning the true meaning of generosity and selflessness. Together, they continued to help those in need, and Marlon finally found the peace and fulfillment that had eluded him all his life. The village, once divided by his selfishness, was united by their shared love and respect for Jacob and the redemption of his father.
